Industrial Evolution

For this project I looked at the 2014 trend 'Industrial Evolution' to create a menswear jumper/sweater.

Stephen; fellow knitter, modelling his final piece in this picture and Sarah in mine. No Sarah it's meant to be a men's sweater!!!

Knit

I have now officially chosen knit as my pathway on 'Fashion and textiles' at Winchester school of art. So far I am loving it! There is so much more to it then I first anticipated.

A few of the knits I have been working on...
From my first project. Using laddering.

For this sample I used frilling with cables and added a hand crocheted edge.

A pocket detail form my most recent project. I will be posting about this very shortly!!

Hand in day! At last...

So tomorrow I will be handing in all the work I have done so far at uni, the two projects being; opposites attract', where I looked at the contrast between natural and man made structures and 'Story lines and Icons' where I focused on the film 'The Wizard of Oz' to create an accessory.

As per usual I had a lot to do at the last minute (still got a bit to do now in fact!!) I completed my concept boards today...

Opposites attract

 Storylines and icons

I also used illustrator and photoshop to aid the storylines and icons concept board for the first time (ish) and after many frustrated hours I am quite happy with the outcome.

Final piece- The Wizard of Oz

With just a few days left of the Christmas break I finally started some work! I finished my final piece inspired by 'The Wizard of Oz' and got round to taking some pictures today!

Oh and Happy new years!!!
